Peggy Kleiber took photographs from the early 1960s to 1990, documenting family, social and political themes over a period of almost three decades. For her, family was more than just a private retreat. With keen intuition and photographic precision, she captured family rituals, celebrations and everyday gestures over decades. She also photographed people, political movements and landscapes in her second home, Italy. Other parts of her archive document trips to Prague, New York and many other places. Her photographs tell of the hidden, of the personal in the political, always with closeness, sensitivity and an independent approach to the medium.
